Nomadic Pathway · Ride with intention
Ride with intention: riding in connection with your horse.
Here we focus on the riding itself: for horses who were started or restarted and are ready to build on it, and for riders who want to ride in connection.
From the ground into the saddle
Riding grows out of the foundation.
Everything you built on the ground comes with you into the saddle. Your horse already knows it, and meets it in a new place, with you on their back instead of walking beside them. That is why I don't teach a horse how to be ridden: riding is one more way of being together. Starting and restarting under saddle happen in the groundwork Pathway, as part of the groundwork skills, so this Pathway starts with horses who already go under saddle.
Riding bitless is the easy part. Riding in connection and with consent is something different: the conversation moves from the ground into the saddle, and that is what we dive into.
What you'll explore
What you'll explore.
Riding skills
Emotional and mental balance under saddle, transitions, and the strength and balance that make riding comfortable for your horse. From the basics to more challenging exercises, playful to technical, always with the partnership in mind.
Keeping the conversation
Many horses dare to speak up at liberty, and go quiet as soon as they wear a halter. Here your horse keeps a say in the saddle too, and you learn to hear it.
Riding out
From the arena to the trail. We head out, roam with our horses and train on the go: hacking out alone or with others, traffic, water, gates. Every challenge out there is something to work with and to grow from, and it keeps expanding your skills under saddle.
Your own riding path
Every pair explores their own riding path and style. We cover the basics, or dive deep into exciting skills under saddle.
What it gives you
What this Pathway gives you.
A horse who is comfortable and confident under saddle, and enjoys the riding as much as you do. Hacking out that is a pleasure instead of a risk. And the two of you as safe partners for each other, able to guide each other through challenges.
Most horses love to move: further, longer and faster than we can ever go with them on foot. On your horse's back you finally move together, and that is where riding leads: adventures. When the two of you are ready for the bigger ones, Trekking & adventures is waiting.
Dates and investment come with the intake. How a Pathway runs
Before you apply
Good questions.
Yes. Riding grows out of the conversation on the ground, so the groundwork skills come first. If they aren't there yet, the groundwork Pathway builds them, and this theme waits for you.
Yes. This Pathway is as much for riding the horse you already ride, in connection and with consent, as it is for horses who were started more recently.
Yes: no bit and no spurs. A sidepull, a rope halter or a neck rope, with a saddle or a bareback pad. Riding without a bit means asking in a different way, and that is exactly what we dive into.
Then your horse is talking to you, and that is exactly what we want. A no is information: ask differently, ask less, ask another question, or don't ask anything yet. The conversation moves with you into the saddle.
Where to begin

Tell me about you and your horse, and where the groundwork stands. The intake is where we see together if this is your Pathway.
